Marching On

As March was drawing to a close and I was thinking about what to post, I was concerned I'd have nothing to write about for the month.  In the busy-ness of life, I honestly couldn't remember what we had done that was "blog worthy".  Luckily, my usual routine for starting new posts didn't fail me: I start with my phone, upload all the pictures taken since my last post, edit them, and relive the memories; then I move to Mike's phone, then the camera (and this month, to Facebook to steal some of our neighbor's photos).  It seems a little mundane when I see it all typed out, but it's actually pretty therapeutic.

This may shock some of you (but probably not most of you), but I have a hard time living in the moment and appreciating what I've got in the here and now.  I'm always worrying about what has happened or what will/could happen.  It's not my favorite thing about me, but it's something I'm working on... and doing these blogs on a somewhat regular basis helps me remember to appreciate life as it is now.  You see, every single time I do my blog routine, I count my blessings.  I count my amazing husband and father to my children.  I count my gorgeous, bright, healthy children.  I count my family and friends who love and support us.  And I count the many, many smiles and happy memories these photos capture.

Our neighbor's birthday party at "Pump it Up"

Do I look like my father?

Is it weird I think he looks like me here?

She looks like a mix between Harry Potter and Groucho Marx

At another birthday party across the country... Grandmom Palm turned 101!

Addison's first trip to the zoo!  It was surprisingly hot and I barely took any pics, but Addison seemed to enjoy the animals and can now do the cutest elephant impression I've ever seen!

Embarrassed this is the ONLY animal pic I got...
no, not the monkey in the front - the BATS hanging behind the screen.
Freaks me out every time.

Andrew started Swim Lessons!  He has only had 2 classes so far, and he still does NOT like getting his face wet,
but we really like his teacher and he's excited about going to class each week.

Our first major biking boo-boo.
For riding his bike for almost a full year and only being 3, I think this is pretty good!

Another first - first pair of flip flops! We had to buy shoes because we were out and forgot them
(wish I could say this was the first time) and these came in handy for swim class!

And Addison in her cute sandals - she LOVES these - actually she loves all of her shoes.
I'm in trouble.

Enjoying the beautiful CA weather during an east coast snow storm.
(Again, trying to focus on counting blessings... not trying to rub it in!)

Watching a movie at our neighbor's - Mateo (4), Andrew (3), Shelby (3) and Richie (6)

At Concannon's Underdog Wine Bar with my college roommate, Allyson, who just moved to San Francisco!

Finally February

Other than our one wonderful week in Florida, January was a tough month in the Foster household.  I had minor surgery (everything is fine) and poor Addison had both an ear infection and a trip to Urgent Care for an "asthma attack".  Not sure how one gets an asthma attack if they aren't diagnosed with asthma, but the doctors say it is related to her having RSV as an infant.  Luckily, there was no hospital stay involved this time - just a prescription for a nebulizer and at home albuterol treatments, which our little girl did like a champ.  Even better news is she's had no relapses since, which the doctors warned us could cause more issues.  Hopefully, going into the warmer months will mean less colds and she'll outgrow any breathing issues before next fall!

Look at this cute nebulizer!
Getting her nightly treatment (and cuddle time) with Daddy.
Feeling all better!

Yes, Mom, I know I total destroyed the room... but look how cute I am in my dress?!

Once we were all "on the mend", we were able to have some fun and enjoy February - I thought these series of pictures were funny - this is Andrew and his friend Shelby at our neighbor's Superbowl party.

And here's Addison and her friend Holly (Shelby's sister) - in matching outfits.
This was completely unplanned!
Andrew's Valentine's this year... he even helped me make them!
Super proud of this because the whole project literally cost less than $5.00!
Gotta love Pinterest!
