Andrew turns 2!

Andrew is an active, busy, determined, persistent, exploring extrovert. He is also charming, intelligent, aware, strong and loving. We are amazed at his ability to absorb like a sponge and repeat like a parrot. We are enjoying his new sense of humor, ever expanding vocabulary and his constantly changing interests.

Andrew got this from Gram and Pop for his birthday after falling in love with it at our neighbor's house. It should be arriving here in CA any day, and I can't wait to see Andrew's face when he opens it all over again!

On a recent trip to Oakland Zoo, we rode the train... I know he doesn't look thrilled here, but he was - really.

As of the day after his birthday - Andrew has moved to a big boy bed in his new room! He has slept through the night, but getting to bed has been a battle since our trip back to PA. Hopefully, this is just until we establish a new routine in his new bedroom. He has also kicked the bottle habit since the trip, although he still uses his pacifier as a soother... but I'll be honest, I'm not in a hurry to lose this mood saver!

His newest trick is riding his tricycle! He just did this tonight all the way back from the park near our house! We are almost as proud as when he learned to walk!

Andrew also just started "Pre-School A", or more commonly called "The Twos" at daycare. It's only been a couple of days, but Mike and I are excited for him to be around 'older' kids and pick up some new tricks... hopefully all good ones (i.e. - talking more, cleaning up his plate, using the potty - yep they all are expected of Two's)! He already was happy to be reunited with some of his friends who had moved up over the past couple months and weeks, so we know he'll be adjusted to the new room soon enough!

Finally, the biggest news of all (which for most of you, is not news at all), is that Andrew will become a big brother during this next year! But, more to come on all that later. For now, just yet another change that makes us thankful children are so adaptable... and if his sister turns out anything like Andrew, we will be the luckiest parents in the world.

Andrew's Pre-Birthday Celebration

The Foster's have been very busy, and therefore my blog writing has been neglected... but not to fear! We will have quite a few updates over the next couple weeks!

Andrew's birthday is tomorrow, August 9th, but we travelled back to PA last week for a pre-birthday celebration. The week was filled with fun activities and a party with family and friends on Sunday. Here's a quick overview of some of the highlights.

Andrew loved running around Grammy's backyard - and Mike loved watching him "be a boy," as he put it - playing with sticks, running through the grass, and digging up worms. Our next house will have to have a big yard!

We took a trip to Giggleberry Fair with Grammy, Gram, Pop, Aunt Amanda and Cousin Brooke!

Daddy didn't want to miss out on the trip to the Moon!

Or maybe an architect?

Andrew will NOT be a motorcyclist... but he did love talking about Uncle Dave's "really loud" motorcycle.
Every time he hears a motorcycle now, he tells us how loud Uncle Dave is!
