April started out with a visit from my college roommate, Allyson, and her husband Brandon. Allyson was interviewing close to Sonoma, so we drove up and met them for the day. It was so nice to catch up with friends and spend some time socializing. After a very nice lunch in Sonoma, we headed to Ravenswood and Bartholomew Park wineries.
The following weekend was Easter. It was definitely bittersweet, as it was Andrew's first Easter, but it was also our first holiday away from our families. Although we missed everyone, we tried our best to keep busy and we celebrated with a visit from the Easter Bunny, an Egg Hunt, and a full Easter dinner. YUM!

The Easter Bunny was VERY good to Andrew this year.
So were Grandma Foster and Aunt Barbara! |
 |
There were a TON of people at the Mountain House Egg Hunt.
We wondered where they all came from! |

| Look! An egg! |

| We thought it was weird being near palm trees on Easter. |
 |
| Andrew was fine with the scary bunny.... I was a little uncertain. |
 |
I made a homemade carrot cake with homemade icing. It wasn't good.
But, Andrew looked very cute wearing the icing as a beard! |
 |
| Andrew got all dressed up for dinner (and a video chat with the Foster Family). |
 |
| Yum! Easter ham, Company Potatoes and coleslaw. |
Later that week, Grandmom Foster arrived for a long weekend visit. She spent the day with Andrew on Friday, and on Saturday we headed to Monterey. We had a lovely lunch on Cannery Row overlooking the bay and then enjoyed the sun and sand for a little bit before heading to the Aquarium. Andrew loved the aquarium. He really liked yelling at the fish swimming by in the tank. We really liked the Jellyfish Exhibit and got a few cool pictures.

Fun Fact: Did you know that it is the male Sea Horses that
get pregnant and give birth to baby Sea Horses? |
