Lately, Andrew has been showing some signs of aggression towards his little sister. As to be expected, a little jealousy has sunk in with the realization that Addison is here to stay and that she is quite time consuming. (She really does seem to have a knack for wanting to eat just as Andrew wants to cuddle with mommy.) We also think that part of this aggressive behavior is due to some bullying at school. His class is full of boys and a new boy started recently that Andrew tells us stories about every day. I spoke with the teacher, and things did seem to improve slightly, but she warned us that this is also very normal for new older siblings... and especially for toddler boys. Regardless of the reason, it's incredibly alarming to see your toddler running at full speed towards your infant's head. We know that this phase will pass with time, but until then we live on the sweet moments after these bouts of bad behavior where Andrew's trying to make up for his naughtiness... and we get some really cute pictures!

This newest parenting concern has led me to reflect a lot on my own relationship with my sister... and although it wasn't always peaches and cream, I can only hope that Andrew and Addison find a similar joy in their relationship that I have found with my little sis, Amanda. We were 5 years apart, which meant that I was more maternal and more of a mommy's helper than my wild Andrew will ever be... I'm not sure Amanda would always agree this was a good thing. Unfortunately, being a mommy with an infant and toddler does not leave me enough time to do a post that would actually do justice to my relationship with my little sister. So, until I can devote the time, here are some pictures from an album that Amanda made me years ago that I think sums up our relationship pretty well. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Very Touching! I love you guys.
