Addison! Addison! Addison!

Addison's four months old and growing by leaps and bounds! Here's an update on her progress.

Addison had her four month check up last week.  She weighed in at 13 lbs even and measured 24 3/4 inches long.  Our pediatrician said it's still too soon to tell (and I really wonder where they come up with this), but at her current growing rate, she could be a 5 foot 5 inch, very slender woman.  (I'm almost 5'3" for those of you wondering.)  We were given the go ahead to start Addison on solids and have since given her rice cereal and sweet potatoes.  She will eat both, but makes the funniest face when trying rice cereal... who can blame her, that stuff is gross. We have also started giving her a bottle of formula every couple of days, as I'm planning on weaning at six months.

Our first meal at the table Mike built!  And Addison's first time sitting in her high chair!
Food on my nose?! Silly Mommy!

Who needs rice cereal when you have toes to eat?

Addison is still sleeping in our room in the pack and play.  We're worried about her waking up Andrew in the middle of the night, or worse, Andrew going in her room and waking her up...  The plan is to move her in the next couple weeks and start a little bit of sleep training so she's (hopefully) sleeping mostly through the night when I go back to work in July.  Currently, her schedule is all over the place.  Last night she was only up once (YAY!), but the night before she was up every 2 hours and struggled to fall back asleep after each nursing session.  It's rough not knowing what each night will bring, but I know it's not forever.  And besides, who can be mad at this face?

A rose between two thorns (after a particularly long night!)
Speaking of nothing lasting forever, she is finally over her fussy "witching hour" phase, and generally a happy baby.  She has been smiling consistently since 6 weeks and has given me a good couple laughs when I shower her with kisses.  Although she is definitely a mommy's girl for the most part, recently she has found her father fascinating... and the way she looks up at him and then sighs as she looks away is just about the sweetest thing I've ever seen.

My mother always said that after trips she could see big developmental changes in us - well the same has proven true for Addison.  After we returned from Florida, she started rolling over both ways! She hates tummy time, but for about a week straight, all she did was show off this new skill.

She also recently spent a couple weeks talking non-stop.  Mike and I would wake up in the middle of the night to her cooing and babbling in her pack and play.  Lately, she has been more quiet... I think she's too busy absorbing all of her brother's actions... she LOVES watching him play and run around the room and I really think she cannot wait to join him.  We often get the feeling she is sick of being a baby and ready to jump to toddlerhood already.  Poor girl.  All in good time, Addison, all in good time.

When we go for walks, she always props her feet up and I get glimpses of her as a teenager
with her feet on the dashboard of my car.
In our ottoman!
Sitting up tall in her Bumbo!
Starting the Penn State Pride early!

My pretty girl.
