July and August 2016

Yep, it's December and I'm writing about July and August... just think of it as a reminder that warmer days are ahead of us!

Getting in on the Pokemon craze!

Addison's first full movie - Pets in 3D!

Andrew started swim lessons, and LOVED his class. If he could swim every day, he would be a real swimmer, but 3 times a week for 30 min was just not enough... hopefully next year he'll get more swim time!!

Bunny sitting our friend Sue's bunny, Monchito
Backyard Fun at our neighbors:

Check out the size of Addison's diaper!! (We had run out of swim diapers!)

Music in the Park

 At the pool in Livermore:

Mike's and my Anniversary... pool time (above) and then appetizers and drinks in Livermore... with the kids! Ha.

Fun at home with mommy.... Playing pirates surrounded by sea life!!

 Searching for gold doubloons!

 Water gun paintings:

Addison started dance class!! They do tap and ballet. And I love watching her in class. She is a teacher's pet, listening and following directions... it's like a whole new world for me!! ;)

We took Andrew fishing! (Addison had no real interest.) We didn't catch anything, but he was very patient. Especially for it being so hot!

My little boy turned FIVE in August!!

ANDREW STARTED KINDERGARTEN!!!
After a long summer, he and I were BOTH ready for him to go to school full time... but I definitely was worried about him turning 5 two days before school started and being the baby of the class. I was also worried that his teacher, who hardly smiled during Back to School night, was going to break his wonderful spirit and not understand his energy. But, away he went anyway... like it was something he'd been doing his whole life, excited to make new friends and learn to read!

We walk to and from school every day. Love that.
Playing with Addison while waiting for the bell to ring!

Into class he goes!
Bye, Mom!
After drop off, we had the school sponsored Boo Hoo Breakfast, and then off to Sue's for Mimosas with the other free moms! It was a wonderful morning!

And of course, pick up!! No hat for my son?!? No smile?! Ugh! (But don't worry, that has all changed now... just a stressful first couple weeks!)

Homework!!

So proud of him!

Addison working too!
In August, we took the plunge and got a new vehicle - a mini-van! Yay! Unfortunately, less than 2 weeks later, while driving home from town, a car ran their stop sign and hit Addison and I, while I was going 50 mph. We all walked away with very minor injuries, but our brand new car was totaled and it was a very scary experience. Please, please, please... wear your seat belts. Every time you are in a vehicle. And buckle your children correctly. Addison and I would not be here today if it were not for our seat belts (and air bags).

The day after... counting my blessings.

We took the kids to see the car, and explained to Andrew exactly what happened
so he understood how important it was to always wear seat belts.

And a couple final miscellaneous shots from the summer:
Addison's first hair cut!
Love his smile.
